Actually, there's a way to preserve the 2.5 gal/min flow rate, and still increase your pressure. Do a google search for high pressure shower heads and www.highpressureshowers.com . There's a site that goes through insane shower head pressure testing, and offers for sale only the best, highest pressure heads they could find. (All still using 2.5 gal/min). They even have high pressure hand held shower heads. I bought one of the hand held models from them, and it's better than the standard head I have in my other bathroom.... they have economy models up to high end models.
